News iRacing To Retire And Replace Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Late Model

While I hate it as much as anyone, I suppose that even if the car is no longer usable and should be accessible for thing like only replays, licensing of the Monte Carlo name likely has something to do with it. That being the case, I suppose I understand - the premise that something we paid for could potentially disappear at any given time does stink, but that is the unfortunate consequence of digital media in the modern age and the fact that you could lose it one day… especially when it involves licensing.

Man, the early days of racing sims and modding where the mods were free and nobody cared about licensing were awesome, lol.

So true! But, well, that's the odd thing for me. That car was originally released without any Chevrolet branding. If licensing were the issue they could just remove it again. But that's a reasonable excuse I can believe. I just hate to see it. :(
