Activation failed

Hi
It seems I can't activate my rFactor anymore.
I recently bought a SSD and today I tried to reisntall rF, but it seems I spent all my attempts. Since 2005, I upgraded my Pc a couple of times...
Can I have a solution please, I would like to play !

ps: if you plan to release rF² before next week, forgot my message ;)

Thx.

I didn't find this topic yesterday :/
It could be a good idea to stick it in "tech support" sub-forum ;)

Mine is there but the game is still sending me to the purchase screen. Any ideas?

Possible solutions for reappearing purchase screen:

- Ensure your system meets the minimum system requirements and that there are no issues with directx (run dxdiag).

- Ensure that rfactor is not being blocked by other software. Add rfactor to your antivirus ignore list and your firewall's allowed list.

- If you have Vista or Windows 7, try right-clicking on the rfactor.exe and selecting "Run As Administrator..."

- This can also sometimes be fixed by deleting the trymedia license folder located in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data" on Windows XP or "C:\ProgramData" on Vista then reactivating the software. You will need to have "Show hidden files and folders" enabled (see your Windows documenation for instructions).

- This can also occur if it detects a system change or a change to the system clock. If you (or any program) recently set your clock ahead/back in time, reset it to that time, run rfactor, alt-tab out to your desktop and reset the time to the correct time, then alt-tab back into the game and exit.

similar problem here: ran rFactor for ages with no problems under XP. bought a new PC. used windows data transfer software to transfer data and settings to windows7. installed rFactor. at the end of install process it shows this image
rFactorfail.jpg

and hence stops the install process. I contacted Trymedia, got a new code and downloaded a new setup.exe file. I also deleted the failed rFactor install and cleaned the registry. Still, after doing the fresh install, I encountered the same problem. Trymedia then told me to find and delete the hidden Folder "Trymedia" which is supposed to contain a .lcn file, my licence. "6. Delete all .lcn files located in ...Trymedia\ActiveMark\licenses."
ran a thorough search of all pertitions, no sign of the .lcn file, hidden or out in the open. I am pretty much at my wits end.

1. In My Computer->Tools->Folder Options view tab, enable "Show hidden files and folders".

2. Delete the trymedia license folder located in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data" on Windows XP or "C:\ProgramData" on Vista/7

Also, with Windows 7 and UAC enabled, you'll likely have do run rfactor by right clicking and selecting "Run As Administrator..."

@gbsnplr Although you may be out of activations from having to reenter it into the purchase screen, this would not be the cause of the above error. You would receive a error message stating you were out of activations if that was the case.
