Activation Hanging ?

Well...

Had rFactor on my machine quite a while ago, and my G25 died so I ended up not using it.

Come to install on my new PC today as I now have a new G27, and the activation just appears to hang.

It goes through the whole installation phase, says "Finishing Activation", then says "Connecting to internet" and then im just presented with this screen which goes no further.

I am using windows 7 with UAC off

I have tried :

1) Disabling the firewall
2) Deleting any files in the c:\program data\TryMedia folder
3) Running as administrator
4) Changing default browser from my normal chrome to internet explorer just incase that had any effect


Im worried that I am using up licenses as I have now run the program about 7-8 times trying to get it to work, I have only ever had 1 installation prior to this.

This is quite annoying, does anyone have any advice on what I can try ?
 
Well great, looks like a game I have paid for I cant use, due to some online activation that no longer seems to work!
 
there was a trick with this error,
set your computerdate to 2015,start RF,alt-tab to Desktop,set date back to 2012,back to RF and close it.
error is gone but i dont know if it works when you have delet the Trymedia folder.
