Activation prompt when DVD is purchased

Got ver-1.255 for Christmas, installed and played w/ 0-issue. Last night I added a mod which is a standalone stockcar mod. I installed it to its own folder. when i go to launch the new mod i am prompted to enter activation code, I cannot find anything in the DVD contents and it was purchased new. STUMPED. any help would be most appreciated.
 
The standalone mod uses the non-DVD version of rFactor. It essentially is a repackage of our product, and to keep it legal with us at ISI, they can't give it to you with bypassed activation, as that would be piracy.
