Are some object names or object name prefixes reserved?

Jorgen

I know about the X-objects (xpitin, xpitout, etc) as well as startlight, startglow etc, but are there other "magic" object names that are reserved? I just spent a couple of hours trying to get twelve pit box objects to show up, but I only managed to get one of them to show up in the game. (Win32Viewer displayed all of them though) As a last silly resort I just changed the file and instance names from "pitbox01" to "box01" etc., and like magic, they all appeared.

Yup pitbox and ptent are reserved. the number relates to the garage number and displays or hides based on the presence of one or more car in that garage.

also the word "fire" should be avoided. I added a firetruck to my vegas track and my cars started spitting out little fire engines when they exploded.

Intesting find, he he. :) I also recently discovered that "pdoor" plus the instance number is the door to each garage. Same logic as for "ptent" and "pitbox".

What about flag? I have some funny idea in my head that an object named yellowflag will turn on when yellow is active, blue black etc respectively. I haven't got around to testing it yet, but I do have it in mind to do so.

"Rotate" is something, which can be used for rotating sign etc. For instance, "RotateY10_SIGN01" gives us rotating object named "SIGN01" around Y axis with speed of 10.

Same thing with "SIGN" and "CONE". They can be tagged as movable object, so you can knock over them with your car.

I got the same, in my case the cars were spitting fire extinguishers instead of flames.

Pdoors* must be avoided as well... just in case.
