Bad looking lines on the track

Dev.iL

Hello guys

I have a problem with rF1...my graphics card is nvidia GXT 560 so I think this card must run rFactor1 without any problems, but my game looks like this: http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/197/grab001se.jpg

All lines on the track look really bad. They are smooth only few meter in front of the car, then it looks ruggedly and in the bigger distance even solid line looks like dashed line!

I play on 1920x1080 resolution and in rfactor config I set Anti Aliasing on Level 3, because if I set higher level than it looks even worse. In game I have all at full details and 16x anisotropic texture filter.

Can anybody help please?

Try different settings in your video card control panel, not just in rF config. I have ATi card and it should be similar.
set AA to 4 and if you have "use application settings" or similar option next to it, turn it off
set AF to maximum value and if you have "use application settings" or similar option next to it, turn it off
set mipmap detail level (called like this in ATI settings) to maximum

We recently just purchased 8 similar video cards throughout our team, although not exactly the same as yours, generally if you set your settings to the ones in the forum post I referenced, it should help (exchange .exe to rf2). We develop in both RF1 and RF2 with these cards and settings, maybe a little reduced on RF2 depending on CPU.

Best of luck

** Note we all use the shipping drivers for our video cards as well (DVD). Not really a known or true reason, but it seems that the shipping drivers work the best on a particular card, while a updated one may correct a limited number of issues but appear to negatively impact it in other areas. Maybe its a internal thing with GPU companies to make folks upgrade unnecessarily every so often, but we'll never get them to admit it ;)

thanks for your replies

sadly your tips do not work...but I figured it out. With utility called nvidia inspector it works. I turned on Antialiasing - transparency supersampling and lines are now much better!
