Delta Timer for rFactor1

Tiger117

Guys, i know this is possible... maybe not by isi, but maybe by someone also racing with rFactor 1. I want to ask if someone familiar with Java could PLEASE make a widget for real time Speed Delta. I am not talking of sector time comparison... that we already have. i am talking about a rather large timer that goes red while you drive and you're slower than the fastest lap on the same spot, and green when you're going faster on specific spot on the track. In my mind it won't be hard to do... but i have zero knowledge about Java.

i do however know that the rfHighVoltage app has a position marker... calculating every cm on the track (Track distance) as you drive... so 1 is the startline... :) So if one can somehow take fastest lap and plot the time for each "cm" driven for specific lap, and only update the times when a faster lap is done, then one can use that to also compare the with current lap. WHALLA. In theory this will work. now we just need someone with the know-how to program it.

If you don't know what I am talking about, check out iSpeed for iRacing. The guys at ISI should probably know how rfHighVoltage gets the car's distance on the track info from.
If they're willing to share that, and also which file contains live lap timing... then we can work on it.

One would not look at the times while driving... the color Red (Worse) & Green (Better) can be seen with peripheral vision.
One could use it to instantly know when you've missed a braking point, turned in too early, or missed the apex by even a little compared to your fastest lap. You'll also know instantly when You're taking a line that is better than you've done before, which rapidly shortens the learning time of new tracks, lines, or setups. Of all the things you've done in your Sim-Racing career, it will be the most significant upgrade to your track performance by far.
Think of it as a ghost car, but using telemetry rather than an unrealistic see through car. So it won't make rFactor more arcade like... in fact, it would only make rFactor more "Hard-Core".
