FOV-Cam editing

Ayrton

Ok guys, I need only this to complete my customization of mod. But is hard to edit at random. Any of you know which are the correct values to obtain this view?

No metal bar, so camera tilt down, full view of helmet, legs and wheel.
Of course go in and out each time to see results is pretty annoying, so if some of you have already this setup please share. Thanks

I've done also this. At the end I manage to solve by myself. Anyway, it took a bit of time, but for who is interested in this kind of old TV cam here the setup I'm using. It's a way better view than default one for me, especially for old mod like F1 1985 Season.

LocalCam=TVCOCKPIT
{
Fov=(87.50, 62.50)
Clear=TRUE
Color=(0, 0, 0)
ClipPlanes=(0.305000, 500.000000)
LODMultiplier=(1.000000)
MipmapLODBias=(0.000000)
Size=(1.000000, 1.000000)
Center=(0.500000, 0.500000)
Flags1=(0)
Flags2=(0)
RadiusLimits=(0.000000, 0.000000)
OrientationRate=(35.000000, 35.000000, 25.000000)
PositionOffset=(-0.00000, 0.700000, -0.680000) //(Left-Right, Up-Down, Back,Forward)
OrientationOffset=(-0.400000, -0.015162, 0.001304)
Radius=(0.000000)
}

Of course this is the cam file of the car you want to use. in rFactor set DEFAULT tv cockpit.

Dunno, assuming the original was 4:3 the extra width might just highlight the fisheye effect. Lots of personal preference either way.

What about the orientation rate? I've only played with that for a cockpit view, wouldn't you want those on 999 so the camera doesn't lag? (it is bolted to the car, after all)

Don't know about Orientation set, need to put 999 to eliminate lag?

It sets the maximum rate at which the camera turns. If the numbers are too low the camera will actually turn more slowly than the car, so it ends up 'lagging' behind it. Pretty sure most onboard cams are set to 999 so wherever the car goes, they go :)

I will give it a try. Btw, just found a 1985 cam view already done in rfactor add ons...
just lost 2 hours yesterday tweaking this :(
