Modeling a car all from zero.

Greetings to all,

I am a rookie in Rfactor (registed today) and I am very positivly impressed by all Rfactor environment I had not known until today.
I have instaled Rfactor, and Motec software with the respectivly plug in to export race information to it, and work with telemetry. It is all working.
I am now thinking on modeling a car all from zero. I am referring not only to skins and visual aspects, but also to technical specifications issues (engine suspension brakes) and it can be based on a real car. Can anyone tell me if it is possible? Councerning this issue I have some questions to put:

1. I have read on foruns that some people are upgrading cars for some place with new cars created? This is only about visual like the apearence of the car or also technical specifications?
