Cannot wait to see how it performs....I was nodding my heading until i got to front wheel drive. lol. Thats different!! WEC is getting better each year. All 4 P1 Teams have different way they try to win races. engine design/battery/capacitor etc etc.........As Manufacturers buy in, i hope schedule grows. There should be at least 12 enduro's on calendar..... Enjoyed watching 2014 races...Silverstone cant come soon enough.

I'm very interested in their reasons for front wheel drive. Just to prove it can be done? Or something more technical?

lmao. i said the same thing.

also read they only can hire short drivers because the kers system is right below the cockpit. Sounds like they got idea how it all will work. Paul Ricard test cant come soon enough. (march 25-27)

this is how series grow....with manufacturer support. WEC is heading in right direction.

I thought, I'm still trying to find the article on it, but I thought ISI resigned the Nissan license. Not sure if this car would be part of that or not. The statement came when one of the Nissan updates were released. There are a few other Nissans that are on their way, eventually, hopefully the LMP1 will take priority as we need a prototype in rF2 :)

With Tim mentioning a 2015 f1 rules car the things they are adding to the engine should allow a current lmp1 car as well. Fingers crossed. :)

The ic engine drives the front wheels, the hybrid electric motors drive all the wheels, so it's really 4wd!

Actually at the moment there is no driveshaft going to the back, just the provisions to have one. They will only run the power to the back if they need to. A pure FWD would be more efficient and I guess they'll try and make that work before falling back to AWD
 
On another forum someone suggested that with the engine only powering the front wheels, there's no need for a driveashaft and differential at the back, which leaves a lot of space underneath for a venturi tunnel. Look how much space there is since the electric real motors can fit in the sides:

Also I knocked up a quick physics prototype in DevMode. It seems to behave ok, drives like a car should :D
 
i love how nissan always comes with something new and there are many reasons why it might work
