Very first was NeedForSpeed III Christmas gift from brother 1999. During after Christmas sales found Grand Prix Legends on a discount rack for $10.

That began a quest for...no idea.
A quest for something.

NeedForSpeed III isn't a bad game as your first one

Think my first one was either Stunts or maybe Lotus III, been a few over the years
Outside of anything Papyrus I'd say honorable mention to Motorhead from digital illusions and a hovercraft game called HiOctane that I spent a lot of time on.
