problems with game start up

I did a reinstall of r factor. Everything seems to have gone fine but when I try to play
the game I get the standard message that r factor has stopped running and windows is trying to find the solution.
Any and all help to solve this is greatly appreciated.
 
What version of windows are you running? Does this happen with any other games? At what point does it fail? Have you ran the config exe?

I was wondering what was done to solve this problem. rF was working previously but now I'm having the same problem. I haven't upgraded or changed any hardware. I'm running Win 7 x64
