rFactor and Arduino

Panici

Hey guys.

I know it's been done before, but I want to interface rFactor with an Arduino microcontroller.

My plan is to have laptimes/other info to the right hand side of the screen. I'm going to build digital 7-segment displays for this. Here's a scale mock-up.

Even though it would be much easier to do this with another monitor, or even a small LCD screen, I think the 7-segments look sweet.

On top of the wheel, i'm going to have one of these:

And hope to have it function similar to this:

I plan to have two other of those modules with buttons, to display car data. (ie, fuel level, temperatures etc) I'll probably mount these to the left of the wheel.

The eventual plan is also to have a rumble motor on the brake pedal, to give feedback on wheel lockup. But i'm focusing on the display first.

Any help that you guys can give me would be great. I'm also on the Arduino forums figuring out the display side, hopefully this forum can help me with the rFactor data output side.

Cheers,
Panici
