rfactor not loading player info

Rfactor stopped working (windows error message). When reloading for the third time it didn't load normally. Instead of going directly to the mod and loading my player info it went back to the beginning of rfactor like when I first installed it. No player info exists so it wants me to create a new player. The mod's are still there but when I go to them my player info is not there either. My player info is still in the rfactor folder but it's not recognizing it. Is there a way to get it to load that specific info so i don't have to create a new player and lose everything from my existing folder? Any help will be appreciated.
 
Which OS are you using? If Vista or Win7, then try running it as an admin.
 
I'm running vista. But I went into settings and discovered that my .PLR File was changed to a .TMP file. Which is why it wasn't loading my player info.I changed it back to a .PLR file and it's running no problem. But how and why would that happen?
 
I'm sure you right about that. I'll just keep an eye on it if it happens again. Thanks for the help.
