Hi,
I'm relatively new to sim racing / modding (with the recent games).
I've got an idea to try to simulate WTAC (World Time Attack Challenge) using rFactor.
link: http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/news/2012-results/
its held at Eastern Creek raceway in Sydney.
I've read that there is apparently a laser scanned version of the Eastern Creek track for rFactor,
and thats why I thought it would be a good option (I haven't bought the game yet).
Overall, I'm just trying to get:
-The most suitable sim game for this (either rFactor, rFactor 2, GTR 2, Race 07 etc)
-the track - Eastern Creek (laser scanned ideally)
-and some similar high performance cars
-to eventually get some accurate close-to-real-life laptimes and results comparable to the link above.
Can I get any tips or recommendations on best options to achieve this?
I'm avoiding R-Factor2 at this stage, as I don't think my hardware will run it too well if at all, and I'm not sure how soon
the necessary mods will be available (the track and cars I'm looking for)
would people here agree rFactor is the best option?
The demo of rFactor runs fine for me, but for some reason I prefer the feel of the GTR 2 demo I've got.
I have "Race On" with some mods and tracks, havn't got eastern creek yet though for it.
I'm using both a laptop (core 2 duo 2.13, 3gb ram, ATI radeon 7450) and a desktop (core 2 duo 2.13, 2gb ram, geForce 7300 GS)
Cheers,
Adam.
