rFactor stop working

Hi,

My computer crash randomly, when i race online.

I have 1 installation whith 1 mod and five tracks for a chamnpionship. I dont use any sort of plugin and my replays are turn off.

My specs:

win 7 64 bits
intel i5 3550 @ 3.30 Ghz
4 GB ram
Asustek V-P8H61E. (LGA1155)
ATI HD RADEON 7750

I need to fix this problem soon as possible.
 
What exactly is crashing?
Is the computer rebooting?
Do you have a crash to desktop of the game?
Did you make a trace to get a hint what the reason could be?

A trace is a possibility to find out what reason a crash had.
Here is what you have to do to create a trace-file:

- if you don't have one, create a shortcut from rfactor.exe
- rightclick on it an choose "properties"
- in the line "target" add this at the end: -trace=30 ATTENTION, there has to be a space in front of the "-".
- the new line at the end should look like ......rfactor.exe -trace=30 or ......rfactor.exe" -trace=30
- click OK and start the game with the shortcut
- move to the point where the game crashes
- when it crashed, go to your rfactor installation folder, and then into the folder UserData/LOG
- there you'll find a file called trace.txt
- open it,scroll to the end and look if there is something written what may have caused the crash.
- to keep the file, rename it, because it will be overwritten when you next time start the game
 
Are you the only one with this problem?
I remember THIS posting from you.

Maybe your crashes are caused by a bad shaped mod or track.

this problem has nothing to do with the older one.

What do you mean with "easier way"?

You just have to edit the shortcut, the rest will be done automaticly ;)

I would say that crashes to Desktop are normally caused by bad modded cars or tracks and the trace maybe can give you a hint to figure out what the reason is.

But maybe i got something wrong.
Is the game completely crashing with windows error-message or just minimizing?

Is it happening on every track?
Are there special situations when it happens, maybe another player is joining the server.

There are so many possible reasons, that in my eyes the trace is the easiest way to start finding out the reason for the crashes.
 
Is that the trace.txt file which was written when the game crashed?
And have their been error-messages from rfactor or windows too?

And where are the files "VehGen33935788.scn" and "VehGen155840793.scn" from?
In my eyes that are a little bit strange files, because they are *.gen files with the *.scn extension which is normally used for tracks.
Do you have them in your rfactor folder?

EDIT: If you can't solve the problem, i would suggest to make a complete new installation (including a new player-profile) of rfactor into a new folder (you can have as many parallel installs as you want) and install the needed mod and tracks into it. If all others don't have the problem you have, that should normally solve it, as long as it is not caused by another running software on your computer.

the problem was fixed with patch 4gb.

the path is rfactor/userdata/log/
