rFactor/ Windows 8 Problem

So I had to switch to a Windows 8 computer the other day and had to download rfactor again. Well Everytime I tried to start it, It would crash and bring up a message saying that "rfactor has stopped working".

I have tried running in administrator, changing permissions. anything. Im just so lost at this point.
Anyone have any ideas?
 
Yes, 1.255c was specifically made to add compatibility with Win8. The problem was with the TryMedia copy protection. They stripped TryMedia and replaced it with their own inhouse copy protection like what is used in rF2.
 
I have read this forum before, didnt find anything then, unless I missed something.
How do i get the 1.255c?
