Solidworks to rFactor?

Is it possible? I have our universities Formula Student (FSAE) car created in SolidWorks 2012 (without wisbones/control arms). Would it be possible to convert it to just drive in rFactor?

I'm not looking for realism or anything, just to have the car drive.

Would it be possible to base the handling/control of a similar car?

in rF handling and 3D models are pretty different things.

handling is defined mainly by some text files that must be compiled with the proper parameters.

I don't know exactly how the 3d model can be made, never done it, but i guess passing through some conversion steps it is somehow possible to include it as well.

Moreover, if you have TTC tyre data, you could also create a pretty nice and realistic tyre model

You will end up with a horrible mess if you try to step the 3d shape through a conversion. You could go back and polish it up in max, but you are better off starting from scratch (quicker, end result better suited towards the use). FSAE tire data is all over the net, just pick a mfg and you'll likely find some.

If the 3D model is completely mapped with textures, then export the model to the collada (.dae) format ........... open the collada files with 3DSimEd ....... and export the needed .gmt files for rFactor.
