I was watching videos of random vehicles doing lap times in SPA and have decided to waste some of my time and have a detailed analysis of the speeds the vehicles carry in the corners and straights.
I've randomly picked videos of these vehicles:
Ferrari 458 GT2
Koenigsegg One
Suzuki GSX-R K7
McLaren MP4-27 F1
And here are the observations:
Corners (Eau Rouge, nr 7, Bruxelles, nr 11, Pouhon, nr 13 {slowest speed km/h})
McLaren MP4-27 F1:...293/141/103/168/239/161/
Suzuki GSX-R 750 K7:182/105/103/125/165/131/
Koenigsegg One:.......167/097/087/104/145/097/
Ferrari 458 GT2:.......189/105/088/104/159/112/
Straights (finish line, La Source-Eau Rouge, Kemmel Straight, Les Combes-Bruxelles, Bruxelles-Pouhon, Pouhon-Campus, Blanchimont-Chicane {fastest speed km/h})
McLaren MP4-27 F1:...290/307/322/274/306/314/322
Suzuki GSX-R 750 K7:247/262/294/201/247/243/261
Koenigsegg One:.......230/261/295/198/249/229/237
Ferrari 458 GT2:.......213/245/263/200/222/231/239
I did not read the track from turn 13, because the speedometer of the bike was obscured by sun.
The best thing is that the Suzuki GSX-R K7 clearly had the edge over the fastest accelerating car in the planet - Koenigsegg One. The Suzuki and Koenigsegg had almost equal straight line speed, with bike being slightly faster, but the bike was much faster in the corners; yet somehow bike's official time is 11 seconds slower... Whatever...
Now the Ferrari 458 GT2 almost matched bike's cornering speed, with bike still being slightly faster, but the GT2 had the slowest straight line speed from all the vehicles.
The F1 car one the other hand is another story... Only sad that Jenson Button's pole lap was compromised by limited top speed in the Kemmel straight due to rev limits and short gear ratio.
