Virtual mirror distortion

This is the pit guy in the virtual mirror of my mod:

Why is the image scaled like that? Is it caused by the mapping of the mirror mesh? Because I messed a while with the mirror mapping and got them showing a pretty OK image but now this...
 
To me this looks like the mirror mesh is mapped wrong
or the mirror.bmp file is not the standard rFactor size 1024x64
 
The texture was 1024x256 for some reason :S where did I find that :p?
