What happens when the server advances sessions ?

It is not too uncommon for a driver to get dropped off the server, when it changes sessions. It's really annoying when it happens when you go from warm-up to race. I know some of this may be related to third party hardware and plugins and mods. I am trying to track down an issue and it would be nice to know why this happens at session changes. If you are connected and running fine, what changes at the sessions ?
 
Must of been a real tough question, or a real "Who Cares ! " one.

I'm just trying to help drivers who get an rFactor crash or dropped from the server, when we change sessions. If I understood what all happens, I might be able to fix their issues.
