Ok, so I would consider myself pretty versed in rfactor modding. Have made dozens of oval tracks and a couple road courses, and a handfull of vehicles. Lately I decided to work on some dirt tracks. I have noticed this issue many times before with pavement and other textures, but have usually been able to make something that works or masks it.
The issue: I do all textures by hand in photoshop, using elements from real photo's along with photoshop tools to create them. Time and time again, I create a texture that looks amazing in photoshop, just to put it in game and be utterly disappointed at how bad it looks. I thought maybe it was because of the dds compression, so I tried going with a tga. It cured it a little bit, but the issue persists. In my example, you can see the max render of the tga texture in max on the top, and the in game screenshot of the same exact area. Even though the render looks fine, it's like rfactor is adding colors and saturation to it. This is a simple T1 texture and all of my settings are on full/max. same resolution in render and in-game. On my old monitor, it looks bad, on my new 1080p monitor with a higher contrast setting, the "extra" colors rfactor is putting on my texture look TERRIBLE!
Any idea's on how to fix this?
Example: render on top, in game on bottom.
