Your settings using logitech driving force GT

zl2bmh

Hello All.

I am new to gaming, even in my advanced years, but due to an incident in my job it has left me unfortunately with a damaged spinal cord and I'm extremely disabled. But gaming which I have just been introduced to has made a world of difference to depression, I'm loving it.

I recently got my 2nd game called rfactor, I think it's no.1. I went out and bought a wheel (Logitech Driving Force GT. it has a red outer on a knob on the steering wheel, it's fantastic).

Anyway, what I would like, is someone to contact me with settings they use. I would like to use the features of the wheel ( force feedback and a couple of other wonderful things you feel through the wheel) but not too much that it makes it difficult to turn or steer etc.

Reading the manual it suggests that using gears should be automatic for new players.

Bearing the above in mind could someone please send me their settings, it really would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Jim, (zl2bmh@xtra.co.nz)

Hi Jim,

Can't help you with config settings (even though the default ones should also be sufficient for starters) but there are some things you can already check up on,
make sure you installed the drivers for this wheel, just visit Logitech.com and go through the gaming menus.
Make sure you calibrate the wheel in windows after that. also set the rotation to a preferred range. not sure what the max is for this wheel but the wider the better.
Later on all you need to do to tweak wheel angle's is change the steering rate inside rf1's setups menus.
Make sure the ffb is set to a negative value rather then positive inside rf1

By the by, it will be difficult to provide good settings as your case is or can be quite specific but the good news is, you will most likely go through the same process as all of us, fiddling and testing ffb, rates, etc, until you are happy with it :)

On a side note, people are also using controllers for simracing. and I have come across a few annoyingly fast drivers using controllers, so don't rule that out either in your quest.
Good luck :)

Welcome!

I would advise against using the full 900° of rotation. Even at 543° you'll require quick hands and plenty of elbow room. I swear I injured my shoulder because my elbows hang over the bolsters on the seat I've got. Tried to catch a spin and the pain was excruciating.

You also can try the search-function of this forum, you will get results like THIS and THIS.
I have G25, so i can't help with your wheel.

Good point LP. I guess it depends on what Jim can take. but I still remember one of our league guys trailing behind no matter what until we discovered his angle was like 2% or something lol. he changed it and it made him allot faster.
So I reckon its gonna be a compromise but as long someone is aware that's already better then not knowing whats going on.
