Headphone volume settings

Anyone have any suggestions as to where me and a few friends are going wrong? We are racing online with headsets using Skype (also any suggestions on a chat service which isnt QUITE so heavy on the computer??!) - and when we race im told all they can hear is my engine and they struggle to hear their own engine notes...which in a way helps as im smashing them all right now :)

Don't sounds as if another software would make a change.
For me it sounds as if your "race-sounds" come from speakers and not over the headset and are given back over your microfone to all others then.

Did you try to set a lower sensitivity of the microfone?

May be true but skype can be a heavy hog

Someone will need to run a teamspeak server. View instruction video from TS web site to set up. All will need Team speak client. Recommend you password your server to keep it private. Set game sounds somewhat lower than team speak. Go race...

Almost forgot... set up a button on your wheel to make communication easier.

If you have win7 or above, rFactor should have it's own "mixer" channel and you can adjust the whole game down relative to TS or whatever.

Click, or right click ? the little white speaker in the lower right "hidden" window and set any processes to the relative volume you want.
