AI Selection.

Jimmy Broadbent

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a new series for my YouTube channel which will follow the 1965 BTCC season.

The issue I'm having is selecting specific AI drives to appear in each race. I also need to rename some of the drivers. How would I go about doing this?

Would I be better off setting up the races as a championship? I'd much rather do them at my own pace, one at a time.

Thank you

Jimmy

The Drivernames you can change in the *.veh files of the cars, which you can open with a normal text-editor.

But as far as i know, the game adds randomly AI drivers when you start a raceweekend or championship-race.
Maybe you can set the wanted field, when you are in raceweekend, with adding and deleting AI's until it fits.

I don't know if it is possible to set the AI drivers for a championship, like you can do it with the tracks.
Maybe someone else can answer that, i normally don't use the AI-mode of rfactor.

Possible solution:
Add in each .veh file you want in the race a seperate class.
Then exchange this class with the standard one in the .rfm.
Or simply delete the .veh of the one you don´t want.

Creating different AI fields works very well with the Classes parameter in the .veh files.

If you want a driver to take part to Leg 1, Leg 2 and Leg 4 of your championship, then set Classes = "AllCars,Leg1,Leg2,Leg4" in the .veh file.
The class names above don't have to be define elsewhere, they just have to be consistent across drivers. Then they should appear in the vehicle selection window.

Maybe the VehicleFilter parameter in the .rfm file has to be set to some default value as well, but I didn't understand how that one works.

Edit : you can also multiselect classes in the vehicle selection window e.g. Leg1 + OddDriver, if that is of any use.
