Driving with a professional race simulator

Brettfan

This week i have made a training with a professional race Simulator how it is used by current F1-Teams.After the first training session i was driving 1:31 in Brianza(Monza) with the F1.The instructor said to me:This is a very good result for the first training in a Pro simulator. Compared with rFactor1 in Monza(Brianza): with a 24 inch monitor and the G27 in the first session i only was driving 1:34(all driving aids OFF).The reasons that the lap time on the Pro-Simulator was better in my opinion are:The very realistic sight-system,the original racing pedals and the better Force Feedback and the realistic cockpit-position in the Pro-Simulator.15-20years ago i was driving a 100cc 28hp race Kart. The feeling of driving in the pro-simulator used by current F1-Teams was very good. The instructor said to me that the racing software in the Pro-Simulator is based on rFactor. He said this to me because i told to him that i am practicing on the PC with rFactor1 and rFactor2.And the instructor answered also:rFactor is not a race game for the PC,it is really a simulation.

Nice going man, I can imagine becoming quicker with that whole setup, tools are important and with such simulators you basically have the best tools all in one package so destined to make you faster.

Did it also move around simulating car movement?
And how long could you race or how many laps?

Gosh bet that was brilliant!
Bet they had the motion set just right ...not over done like most are setup wrongly etc

The instructor said to me that the setup was an average-setup,not very special. The simulator has a seat shaker,it is a Simulator used by an average-Formula1-Team,the Simulators of the Top Teams Red Bull,Ferrari and McLaren are even somewhat better,at least what about full motion.I was driving 15 laps in Monza(Brianza) and then i still had time for 4 laps in Monaco(the current circuit) with 1:32.I had not enough time still to practice more on the Monaco circuit.

But i had problems with the Speed limiter button on the original F1 Racing Wheel because it has a unpleasant position at least for the first time using this racing wheel and so i lost 4 laps because i pressed the Speed limiter button by mistake.

Do you have any / can find any pics of this motion rig you used?

The Mod Cart Factor for rFactor1 seems to be really very good. Also the FFB is very fine so i think that racing with it comes close to the driving like it was three weeks ago in the Pro Simulator. For comparison i naturally also tested it on the Monza Grand Prix track like i did it on the Pro Simulator used by current Formula1 Teams.

Great read ! I wonder which setting we could use on our rF domestic rid, for get more close to thoose professional settings. For examplce the settings on the steering wheels.
