Fanaleds plugin for you Fanatec steering wheel

Good to hear it's better now on the USB 2.0 port.

We are working on the weird FFB. Fanaleds currently refreshes the screen at 200Hz which might be too high for the wheel its CPU to handle. Did you already try firmware 745?

The current detection to rumble the brake pedal is far from good right now. This is on our list of things to improve, so hopefully for 0.4 or 0.3b or something this will be fixed.

Hi,

yes i´m on 745!
Yesterday i´ve tested several hours and have some good and some bad news. The good news: like i´ve already reported on monday, the wheel did not crash anymore like on my USB 3 card.
The bad news: i´ve got the stuttering back and it´s intensity is varying nearly every time i start the game. Sometimes it´s almost good and sometimes unplayable. I´ve just read the finding about high CPU usage, now i think it could be related to this. Depending on to which cores Fanaled and the rF2 threads are getting assigned it is producing a different experience!? I have only two cores :-(
I also found that as soon as fanaled is running my FPS gets about halved. When i´m alt-tabbing out of the game and close fanaled i´m getting back my normal FPS.
And i agree, 200Hz for the LEDs is really too much. Don´t know what the wheels can handle but i think you can lower the stress on the CPU and USB Bus, by reducing the update rate, significantly.

Do you think it´s possible that a Gamingmouse with 500Hz is hurting the wheels or fanaleds performance? I had the feeling that the stuttering overall was fewer when i was setting the pollingrate of the mouse to 125 Hz (G400 with Logitech Gaming Software). But not really sure..........

After doing some testing and hearing feedback about firmware 745; I advice you to go back to 742 for example.

Your mouse shouldn't matter; I've got a 1000Hz mouse and I don't see anything. The other problems you have >should< be fixed. I will email you an update to test.

Thanks a lot Gerben! For info the last firmware is 742 and not 745 unless I'm mistaken!

We are very happy to announce the next big milestone in Fanaleds! The long awaited GUI is finally here. No more tinkering in .xml files or any difficult actions. Just launch Fanaleds and select the settings you would like.

This version includes an additional rumble effect for shift indication. Current rumble effects that simulate the brake locking are now detected better ensuring proper braking feedback.

Please check out our presentation video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUpbdm1pzB0

Download Fanaleds 1.0 now and give us some feedback.

Great plugin! Thanks for this! You're a genius, a gentleman, and a scholar. Awesome, awesome, awesome job! Can't thank you enough. Setup paypal on your site. I'll send you a two bucks. Well worth that.

JUST ANOTHER PERFECT JOB!!! Thank you guys!!!
My GT3 RS V2 has born again!!! I shall call it V3 now! ;)

Fellow racers,

To further improve the quality and feature list of Fanaleds we would like some feedback.

We've made a form for you to fill in to get an image of what's important and what's not.

Please fill in the form: http://bit.ly/NyQVHW

Gerbon, sorry I have not been back to you. My PC has met with an accident and I am unable to use it. I am building a new one but by the time I'm finished I expect you will be too...

We are working on building a forum for Fanaleds. I am looking for some people to help test it. PM me if you think you can help me, and add some motivation please. :)

Fellow racers,

We're proud to release another version of Fanaleds. In this rather big update we have a big list of bug fixes, optimisations and two new games supported! This version of Fanaleds does no longer require administrator rights to operate thanks to the new SDK provided by Fanatec. Kart Racing Pro is now supported and also F1 2012 by Codemasters is now supported, before the native support from Codemasters.

Check it out: http://fanaleds.idrift.nl/downloads.php

Excellent plugin guys!

Small bug report: If i press Pause in rf2 while on the brakes with brake vibration motor active, the motor keeps on going until i unpause it.

I have CSW and CSPedals plugged in seperately by USB, if thats relevant.

That's simply because rFactor keeps sending telemetry information which Fanaleds 'reads'.

We could see if we can check if the game is paused or not to prevent that however. I'll keep you updated. :)

Hello,

the fanaled work well for me with RF2, but i try with RF1 and it doesn't work. anyone have the same issue? (GT3-RSV2 + clubsport)

Thanks

Have you read the readme? Did you run the rF1 plugin, not rF2 one?

Does Fanaleds detect you're running rF1?

I really like Fanaleds but the brake-pedal isn't vibrating.
I have the pedals plugged in to the wheel, is that wrong?
Otherwise everything is working fine :-D

Are you using a CSW? There's something wrong with either the SDK or firmware. If you have a CSW you have to plug in the pedals via USB.

I have a CSW yes.
Hmm ok, is there any other reason to use 2 USB ports, or is the only advantage to get the vibrating pedal?

We have just reached another huge milestone in Fanaleds. As you will notice, our website has been completely overhauled. Thanks to the help of Daan Schaart the old simple website has been replaced by a modern looking design that suits Fanaleds.

Because we are getting bigger we have also chosen to get a domain name for easier access. You are now able to visit us via www.fanaleds.com!

But that's not all! There has been a major milestone in the plugin itself too. A new big feature is the car profiles which enables you to use different settings per car in each game. All kind of settings like the RPM values and even the wheel angle! This now also means people with a CSW now can have revleds in all games.

We have added game support for GTR 1, RaceRoom 2, RaceRoom Racing Experience and OMSI which brings it to a total of 28 supported games.

Last but not least there's a new display mode you can use. The gearrevs mode is a combination of gears and 'fakerevs' to bring the best of both worlds. Because of the many display modes we have made it possible for you to hide certain display modes if you don't use them for example.

It's a display mode that's meant for people that don't have revleds but still want something like it. Try and and see for yourself. :)

Sorry you're right, i put quickly the RF2 plugin. Now it work well.

Thanks for this plug-in.
