How to edit mod - > Please help!i!

Is rFactor 1 forum here ;)

@RcoNN: which mod and car is it that you want to edit?
Hmm hey,

I have the mode " Volkswagen Challenge VR6 By B375 "
I wanna edit the VW Golf GTI VR6 MKIII car...
If you wanna download search b375 vw on google and you can find this.
thank you, have a good day :)

I wanna edit the b375 VW mod...
The GTI Car,
go to google and search b375 VW and you will find this...
I wanna edit the GTI car (VW Golf GTI VR6 MKIII)
so can you help me ?

The Problem is that there are x mods with the Gti Mk III available.

In my Range here, i do have the VR6Challenge_b375.

I have taken the texture you have to edit, from this mod.

Try it out if it works.
If not, i would need the downloadlink of the version you have.

Extract the attached zip-file, it is a texture in tga format and can be edited in photoshop.

When your editing is done, put the texture into the folder:
[Your rFactor Installation-folder]\Gamedata\Vehicles\B375_CARS\Volkswagen_VR6

If you have the same mod you should see the new texture in game now.

The scheme is (.veh, .gen and other files can be opened with a normal texteditor):

-open the *.veh file from the car you want to edit
-search the line "Graphics=XXX.gen"
-open this gen file and search the lines "MASFILE=..."
-in these MAS-files all car files are stored.
-because you don't know which one contains the wanted texture, you eventually will have to extract all of them (except the cmaps.mas in most cases). If one has "map" or "tex" in it's name, start with that.
-(you can use a software like 3DSimED to find it a little easier, but to explain how that works would need "some" more lines here)
-when you have found the texture, edit it and put it into the folder where the mas was (not very elegant) or put it into the folder from the extracted mas-file and repack it again (more elegant).

To extract the mas-files, you need this Tool : DOWNLOAD Mas-Utility

What do you mean ?
Open the file with TXT ?
Which file ? I have so much files with .veh in the end so idk...

A *.veh file is a simple text file which can be opened with normal windows text-editor.
You just have to find the right one for your car.
Normally when you e.g. use the GTI, there should be a folder in the mods vehicle folder with the name GTI in it.
And when you find some more *.veh-files in the same folder, open just one of them, to get the needed informations.

I need to download .VEH ?
Edit
oh im so stupid xd

I find
MASFile=p205gti.mas
MASFile=lclear.mas
MASFile=cmaps.mas
Here idk what to do...

Come on, concentrate please..... i have written what to do in THIS posting. Follow it step by step.

I don't know how i could explain it in another way. It should be clear normally.

Hey,
okey.
I wanna edit the 206 pegueat mod.
so i going to: Factor\GameData\Vehicles\B375_CARS\Peugeot_206\206GTI
And have too much files with .veh so I open the "206GTI_00.veh" with WORDPAD.
now I find the Graphics
and have this line: Graphics=P206GTI_upgrades.gen...
after i going to the peugoet 206 floder and open the P206GTI_upgrades.gen with WORDPAD.
I searched MASFile and find this:
MASFile=p205gti.mas
MASFile=lclear.mas
MASFile=cmaps.mas
What now ? Im except cmaps.mes with MAS prgorem.
The name is cmaps.mes after the except,
I donwloaded 3DSimED.
now what i need to do right now how I can improting this ? because its can improt mas file...
thank you

OK, let's try with 3DSimEd then. But i've posted how to extract the MAS files (with downloadlink of the needed Tool!) in the above post....and to explain how to use 3DSimEd to find a texture, makes no sense here in forum. Just google, there is more than enough information in the www ;).

In 3DSimED in the menu, click on "Tools", then on "Expand" and in the dropdown "rfactor.mas". Then select the mas file you want to extract (a Mas file is like a zip file, just another format).
And select the folder where you want to have the extracted files put in.
After extraction, browse the folder (maybe you need a programm that can show DDS files, i use Irfan-View) to find the texture you want to edit. And when you've found it, you know what to do, you have already done it.

And the important files in this case are:
MASFile=p205gti.mas
MASFile=lclear.mas

The cmaps.mas file is an original rFcator file and normally there is no need to search mod-related files in it.
