Boy do I need some help and ideas. Gentlemen... start your engines!
I started running the Enduracers with my league and have had nothing but problems with my T500 wheel.
Here's what happens: I go over a curb/bump etc. and the wheel vibrates as normal, however, once back on flat pavement it may continue to vibrate and then everything locks up. The game and screen becomes frozen in place. No crash to desktop. Must use Task Manager to kill the game.
I have suspected and checked many things (my system, the mod, my gpu, power anomalies, loose connections) but am now out of ideas.
- All (computer and hardware) drivers are up to date
- All firmware is up to date
- Computer passes all stress test (OCCT, Heaven, Kombuster, FurMark) without error or issue 850 watt PSU/6950 2GB GPU/ i7 2600k
- All temps have been checked and monitored, no overheating of CPU/GPU
- All physical connections are secure
- Game has been reinstalled numerous times, is on it's own drive, Windows 7 64 bit is on it's on drive
- All unnecessary processes are killed prior to running games. It happens when I do this, it happens when I don't.
- I use a UPS to insure no power fluctuations, it's happened with and without the UPS
- I've tried both 2.0 and 3.0 onboard mobo USB connectors as well as a PCI add on card USB connector
- I disabled all in game Plugins, it happens with and without them running (Dashmeterpro & Spotter)
- Windows 7 Event Viewer never shows an error after this occurs, don't know what else could give me a hint IDeas?
- I have not had this happen in rfactor 2 yet however... can't be 100% sure this is a clue as I spend more time running rf1
- Wheel base already has a new cooling fan
- Can happen when I first use it, or after an hour of play. Can't make it happen, it's random and unpredictable
- Happens online and off
- It appears to only happen when using the F1 rim, BUT since it comes and goes I still don't know that for 100%. Testing GT rim now.
At first I thought it was the game or my system, freezing somehow, since the screen freezes along with the wheel. Now I'm not sure, no one in my league has had an issue. As stated above, system passes all stress test.
Ideas? Thrustmaster simply says, plug the wheel into another computer, use the same game and verify. I can't. Call me crazy, I only have one desktop for sim racing.
