Private multiplayer

miguelskaff

Hello,

I've been trying to play an online game with a friend but it has not been possible. We have done everything that's said in the guides and in the forums. The thing is that we both have our firewalls off and we have opened all the ports that should be opened, we launch the dedicated server and created a game, then launch the game and find it in the game list and the we both see it with the host been able to enter the game but when the guest tries to join it a message "session timed out" appears. Anyway we both can join public games.

I really will appreciate your help.

Test my multiplayer file if it works better.
So long right firewall in the pc allow the dedicated server exe.
And right ports in the modem and also router ports to rfactor is right.
Can people join your server take also a look in your plr file you host with so nothings semms to be set wrong.

The simplest way to play your friend is to use hamachi.
Both have to download it and one of you creates a network, the other joins that network.
Now the person who made the network goes into rFactor and hits "Create" in the multiplayer tab and makes a game with all the settings you want.
The player who joined the hamachi network writes down the hamachi IP of the host, goes into the rFactor "Join" tab and hits the blue plus sign. He types in the IP and the game should be there, ready to play.
This just makes a fake lan network between the connections and playing with each other is easy.
