Did it again tonight. This time in the Stock C6 Z06 Corvettes. 100% damage and no invulnerability.
Of the 5 of us that started one quit from fear and the late hour, two more crashed out from lack of discipline leaving Hybodo and I with about half the track to cover. I had an "incident" that took out my front sway bar and blew both my front tires! Luckily thanks to my unflinching will and undeniable patience I carried on doing only what I can imagine is the actual speed limit for those roads. About 30 km from the finish I noticed something funny.. My fuel was going down.. 3.2 gallons? nooooo.. I forgot to disable fuel usage. Hybodo with his not deflated front end pulled ahead several Km and still had 3.4 gallons left to complete the lap. I on the other hand found that two dragging front tyres do not help fuel economy in any way. I ran out at the end of the strait and Hybodo finished with 1 gallon to spare driving the last 30 km conservatively. Great success or insurmountable failure? Driving slowly through the dawn only helped show off the amount of detail and care that went into the track. Bravo. Why doesn't everyone take a nice 2 hour tour of the circuit. It's just as fun as a 35 minute lap..
