Interesting video, as the title says. Hopefully this video can spark some ideas into ISI and/or modders mind as well. Happy watching!
Was actually talking to a former F1 team founder/owners son yesterday attempting to license some of those shown. Really hoping that one pans out as it's a terrific period team and those cars in particular should add a lot of possible years of F1 to spec leagues.Interesting video, as the title says. Thats really good news, thank you Tim!
I really dont get this situation with licencing, I would beleive having your companys name in a so popular sim, would be good and free advertising...
Most of the teams no longer have any associated with the sponsors, and infact for some they have negative feeling towards them (sponsors do switch teams). So really a team that was sponsored by a company may have NO interest in freely advertising for that company. The company might love it, but they don't own the car. Unfortunately licensing makes perfect sense.Thats really good news, thank you Tim!

A couple of oil companies have been talking to me, so some of those fake companies may be replaced eventually.I cannot disagree with your points but the whole thing is close to ridiculous. If you were lets say Shell or Repsol isnt it free advertising to have your name in a sim's 60s track?

I'm not sure what you mean? The person you're talking to about it dead, according to the first link you posted.tim, if you are interested, you can also try to conctact Silvio Moser (http://www.grandprix.com/gpe/drv-mossil.html) F1s' mechanic, Beat Schenker: http://www.silviomoser.ch/silviotie.htm
(may be useful?)
bye!
And in the end Stephen, ISI could charge brands (Shell, Goodyear, Stella Artois etc) to have the proper names and signs into the sim and with that money buy expensive licence from Ferrari, cause at the end, all values are bought and sold with the right price.
You can call it capitalism, I call it bad...recycling.
I fully understand your and hushypushy's points, but all that licencing thing has gone too far.
Next thing they wont allow our kids to sketch shells if they are yellow!
