Real F1 2015 Season - Off Topic Discussion

I can't wait to see Rosberg and Hamilton duke it out for the next 18 races.
Absolutely epic intra team battle, will go down in history for sure. :)

They saved the season for me, I kept following it because of them, otherwise I would have skipped most of 2014 tbh. (or maybe not, if they weren't so overpowering it could have become more interesting)
But it was great fun to watch, like a soap opera :)

Exactly, like some sort of almost scripted drama, but in the best possible way.
I'm sure it'll continue this year, once the season is a bit underway. They're both very eager and determined to prove themselves against each other, no doubt.

lol, liar

You was cheer leading for Raikkonen

Good article.
Go's to show that with any subject, the moment money and power comes into place, the subject itself is becoming less relevant. Happens with virtually everything.
Its a typical sign of uncontrolled capitalism, as long as the money is poring in, why worry?

It's not removed, it's still THERE ;)

edit: this forum-script replaced the "f" word, in the original link from hexagramme, with ****, so it can't find it's target anymore. :D

Oh lol, that's why. ;)
That Hartstein is always very blunt, even in his url's.

Alonso saying something was wrong with the car.
McLaren denying that something was wrong with the car.
Shady stuff indeed...

well McLaren said there was nothing wrong with the car after examining it after the crash, if the steering link broke or something, they might have thought that was due to impact. THey also said they changed the steering rank for a more durable one altho they didnt manage to find the actual cause

Well, how about that Verstappen? :)

Don't get me wrong; I'm not just a blind fanboy who thinks he is the best there is.
My pov; he has some great talent and he is in there to learn. He will be wc material in a few years if he continues like this; not now.

But he does show some nice things in my opinion. P6 is pretty well done in this conditions and having few laps on wet experience.
Didn't see him off the tarmac what wouldn't even be that unthinkable in this conditions and his experience, right?

I think he is going somewhere...........lets see how the rest of the season goes :)

I met him in real life; when driving the F3 Masters at Zandvoort last year, I was a scrutineer and had to weigh him, check his clothing and later, after the race helped FIA check his car; this guy is focussed......wow. You might think he is cranky.
Got some nice pictures of him on the grid, daddy in front of the car, "fighting" to get to him due to all media attention :)
The wife came with me and she got her wish; a photo with father Jos (on the grid with Max' car on the background) :)

So, I have to be a fan, you understand ;)

Going to do a rain dance now, hehe.

I hope you aren't to good with your dance, the race should still be run :p If it gets as heavy as it was before Q3 then there will be a red flag for sure ;)

If you had ever seen me dance; you wouldn't be that worried; few drops at best :)
The race should go on; absolutely!

I heard today that Max' engineers where shaking their heads in disbelieve in practise (this weekend or Melbourne I dunno) because he was doing the same laptimes on hards as others (prolly not everyone) on softs.
I wasn't particularly impressed by him up to this point, gotta see what's what first, but that's pretty impressive.

True; I get your drift.
It all depends on how one defines "impressed" though. If Hamilton wins the race; I'm not. If he would do that in a Manor car; I would be.

For a (young)rookie with little car experience, in the car he is in, setting some lap times that are decent and not wrecking the car, being hired at this age by a team; that could be considered "impressive".
But again; no wild things have happened and I think they won't for a while; not in this car, not in the "learning period".
Little things like the lap times you said and this qualifying; those things will be the best for now.

But maybe......you never know.......he will grow out to be a big shot.

Hmm, I'm not a Vettel fan, but very well done.

Just as well done......Verstappen :)
Stayed out trouble in the first corner, had some nice overtakings and drove -in my opinion- pretty "grown up"; I've seen (a lot) worse overtakings by (ex) champions.
And just as I thought; "he is still without mistakes"..........let's just say; he saved his car nicely when entering the pit :)

As far as "impressed" goes; I am now.

I am no Vettel fan also but well done Ferrari. The best thing have been the faces of Hamilton and Rosberg after the race :D

what a beautiful race. i was also happy to see vettel humbled last year but am glad for him & especially glad for ferrari.

Very happy Ferrari is back, much better race overall as well, lets hope this one wasn't just the extreme heat. fingers crossed this continues because it was exiting from front to back today.
Poor Alonso, exiting Ferrari after a bad streak and look at them now hehe.

yeah i think thats the thing. theres that hope that vettel will be a serious thorn but if not, there was great racing all around. just very promising stuff.

i'm having a hard time finding fastest laps of individual drivers, the F1 site has changed and is now redundant. can anyone point me in the right direction?

Well, Hamilton will possibly get the same but in Her Majestys finest Pound Sterling... so i see him being jelaous :)

Hamilton is getting a lot of hate for this.

For what?

...because of all those stupid campaigns against sexism. ln that new world looks like spraying champagne in the face of a podium hostess is a indefendible action.... Why? I really do not have a clue! Now I'd need a facepalm emoticon....:D

And I say, its sexist to say that thats sexist, its a champagne, nothing else, who thinks of something else is sexist. Gosh

Funny is during latest Valentino Rossi podium he did the same... but straight under the hostess skirt.... Of course nobody accused him to be sexist... So I would say that one is a racist move against hamilton. :D
